The Cambridge University Student Union outreach program required a co-ordinated effort to organise visits to hundreds of schools around the UK. A central website from where students of the University could search for and find their nearest schools was needed which would assist in organising these visits. Distance calculations were to be done using the Postcode system in the UK, for which a database of latitude and longitude coordinates is available from the Royal Mail.

A PHP based application was developed which allowed students to sign in using their University of Cambridge email address and search for the nearest schools near their homes. They could then sign-up for a scheduled visit to the school. Upon sign-up, they were able to go through the various tips for how to conduct the school visits.
